Because passwords get forgotten, reused and leaked. You get a sign-in link by email instead; tapping it proves you own the address. It is the same method banks use for one-time codes, with nothing for you to remember.

Questions about joining
The link has not arrived. What do I do?
Give it a minute and check spam or promotions. Still nothing? Send another from the same form; each link works once and the newest one wins. If your email provider blocks the link, a different address is the quickest fix.
What does it cost?
Nothing, now or later, for households. Honest local businesses pay a flat fee to be listed, which is why you never do. You will not be asked for a card.
Can other people in my home use it?
Yes. A household can have more than one person on it, each signing in with their own email, all sharing one ledger. You add them from your account settings.
How do I delete my account?
From your account page, or by emailing us. Everything goes the same day: the account, every scan summary, the ledger. Photos are already gone, since they are deleted within 15 minutes of upload anyway.
Will you email me offers?
No. You get sign-in links and the contract warnings you asked for. Nothing else.
