The cap varies by region and by how you pay. Prepayment and pay-on-receipt have their own figures, and each region differs by a few pence. The figures here are the GB average for direct debit, so treat a gap of a percent or two as noise.
Only if the annual cost at your usage is lower than the cap and the exit fee is small. Compare the yearly figure, never the monthly direct debit, which suppliers set to smooth the year. Nobody pays to be recommended here, and no supplier is.
